Cronkite Newswatch

by Laura Sposato

NewsWatch is a student run newscast that airs weekdays on KAET 8.3 in Arizona.  It is a program that Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication prides itself on.

News Director and Assistant Dean Mark Lodato said it prepares students for the path ahead in broadcast news.

Each Semester new students cycle in to work anywhere from two to five days a week preparing content for the evenings broadcast.

Lodato and students currently in NewsWatch describe their experience, the application process and the benefits of participating in a program like NewsWatch.
